Wilkes Men's Swimming Upended at William Paterson 115-85
WAYNE, N.J. – The Wilkes University men's swim team opened its season on Saturday afternoon when it was upended at William Paterson University by a 115-85 final.

The relay team of freshmen
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island),
Nick Walker (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area),
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology), and
Seth Platukis (Sugarloaf, PA/Hazleton Area) finished first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.96. The team of freshman
Phillip Bennett (Sayre, PA/Sayre ), junior
Thurman Fogleman (York, PA/William Penn), freshman
Thomas Burner (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon), and senior
Matthew Nevers (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) finished second in the 200 medley with a time of 1:57.09.
Platukis set a new school record in the 200 freestyle when he finished second in 1:55.30 and also finished first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.12.
Senior
Christopher Bright (Robesonia, PA/Conrad Weiser) finished first in the 11 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.80.
Stampone finished second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:07.97, and also finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:48.72.
Weatherby set a new program record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.07, and finished second in the 200 IM in 2:20.06.
Wilkes returns to action on Monday, October 17
th when it opens MAC competition at the CYC against Albright.
