Colonels Notebook
• The Colonels wrestle at the Muhlenberg quad Saturday in Allentown, Pa. with matches against Southern Virginia at 11:00 a.m., Temple Wrestling Club at 12:30 p.m. and host Muhlenberg at 2:00 p.m.
 
• Wilkes finished 3-1 at the NY/PA Duals with wins against Hunter College (42-6), Nassau CC (40-6) and College of Mount Saint Vincent (44-6). Wilkes moved into the latest team rankings coming in at No. 17 overall.
 
• Wilkes finished in third place at the Monarch Invitational last weekend as two Colonels earned individual championships. Jessie Lopez (Everett, WA/Everett) won the 141-pound title going 5-0 while Josh Evans (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton) finished 5-0 with a title at 149-pounds. In total, six Colonels claimed top-six finishes.
 
• Wilkes features three ranked wrestlers in the latest NWCA individual rankings. Guesseppe Rea (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) is ranked fifth at 125-pounds, Matthew Grossmann (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) second at 141-pounds, and Evans fifth at 149-pounds.
 
• The Colonels 2016-17 roster goes 37 deep with a class breakdown of: 1 graduate student; 6 seniors; 6 juniors; 7 sophomores; and 17 freshmen.
 
• The roster features athletes from nine states: Pennsylvania - 17; New Jersey - 9; New York - 4; Virginia - 2; California - 1; Connecticut - 1; Delaware - 1; Vermont - 1; Washington – 1
