Wilkes Field Hockey Falls in MAC Freedom Semifinals at FDU-Florham 4-0
MADISON, N.J. – FDU-Florham scored in the 12
th minute and added three goals in a four minute span in the second half to defeat the Wilkes University field hockey team by a 4-0 final in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom semifinals on Wednesday evening.
The Lady Colonels finished their season at 11-9.
The Devils came out firing on all cylinders on offense to start the game, notching three shots and four penalty corners in the first 11 minutes. FDU-Florham got on the board at the 11:16 mark when Kim Davis found Erin O'Connell off the corner who launched a shot to make the score 1-0.
Neither team was able to gain advantage for the rest of the half as the score remained the same through the first 35 minutes.
FDU-Florham added a second goal at 65:07 when Davis scored unassisted from the top of the circle. Davis struck again at 65:51 when she scored on a penalty stroke.
Noelle Shirey finished the scoring at 69:57 off of a rebound to reach the final score.
