Wilkes Women's Basketball Closes out Season with 88-59 Loss to King's
WILKES-BARRE – Visiting King's College used a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures on way to an 88-59 victory over Wilkes University in both teams' season finales Saturday afternoon at the Marts Center.
With the defeat Wilkes closes out its 2015-16 season with a 4-21 overall record finishing 1-13 in MAC Freedom games. King's ends its season with a 12-13 overall mark standing 5-9 in league play.
After taking a seven-point lead after one quarter, King's extended its advantage over the second and third stanzas outscoring Wilkes 49-27 through the two quarters of play. Wilkes was unable to cut the lead to any lower than 20 points over the final ten minutes of play.
Emily Sofranko (Jim Thorpe, PA/Marian Catholic) led the Lady Colonels offensively finishing with 11 points and two assists.
Cara Basile (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall), playing in her final game at Wilkes, finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
Jamie Campbell (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) added nine points on three treys, while
Catey McFadden (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) chipped in eight points and four rebounds.
Tara Zdancewicz topped four King's players in double figures scoring a game-high 21 points and added seven rebounds.
