Brownsey Scores Eight Goals as Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Dominates SUNY Maritime
EDWARDSVILLE – Senior
Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) scored eight goals, the third highest total in program history, as the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Maritime 18-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
The Lady Colonels improved to 4-0 on the season.
Brownsey scored the game's first goal in the third minute, and would go on to score six more in the first half as Wilkes jumped out to a 12-0 lead at half time.
The Lady Colonels scored six more goals in the second half to finish off the scoring.
Senior
Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) added six goals and six assists for Wilkes, while sophomore
Jessyca Held (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) finshed with two goals and three assists.
Freshman
Tabitha Gravius (Howell, NJ/Manalapan) played the first 51:48and made four saves to earn her fourth win of the season.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Thursday when they host Smith College for a 5 p.m. non-conference contest.
