Baseball Drops Game against PSU-Behrend
Ft. Pierce, Fl. – The Wilkes University baseball team lost 11-6 against Penn State-Behrend on Monday night.
The Colonels fell to 2-3 on the season with the loss.
Wilkes got on the board in the top of the first as infielder
Matthew Reese (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) doubled to lead off the game, stole third, and came around to score.
The Colonels added three more runs in the top of the fourth on singles by infielder
Joe Champi (Dupont, PA/Pittston) and outfielder
Sam Eyler (York, PA/West York) and doubles by outfielder
Jarret Clymer (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and catcher
Alex Kramer (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) as Champi, Eyler, and Clymer all came around to score.
Wilkes scored two more runs in the sixth when designated hitter
Joshua Slocum (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) and Champi led off the inning with consecutive singles, coming around to score on Kramer's single.
Colonels' starter
Quinn Kelly (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) went four-plus innings, surrendering six earned runs.
Wilkes returns to action this afternoon at 4 p.m. when they square off with La Roche College
