Wilkes Men's Lacrosse Falls at DeSales 17-6
CENTER VALLEY – The Wilkes University men's lacrosse team was defeated 17-6 at DeSales University on Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action.
The Colonels fell to 0-13 overall and 0-5 in MAC Freedom play.
Wilkes held a 2-0 lead through the first three minutes on a goal by freshman
John Wink (Glenside, Pa./Abington) with an assist from sophomore
Jeremy Kachel (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), and an unassisted goal from freshman
Max Brown (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach).
The Bulldogs tallied five straight goals before sophomore
Nicholas Ruggiero (Califon, NJ/Voorhees) scored a man-up goal off an assist from Kachel.
DeSales pushed its lead to 15-3, but the Colonels tallied three of the final five goals in the game. Ruggiero tallied his second goal before
Aaron Haley II (Wayne, PA/Valley Forge Military Academy) scored unassisted for his first career goal. Sophomore
Matt LaSorsa (Copiague, N.Y./Copiague) finished the scoring for Wilkes when he scored with an assist from Kachel.
Freshman
Brian Manning (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) made 15 saves in the game while facing 50 shot attempts.
The Colonels return to action on Wednesday when they will host Delaware Valley University for 4:00 p.m. MAC Freedom game, the final home game of the season.
