Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 at Muhlenberg
Allentown, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Muhlenberg College on Saturday afternoon in a close contest.
The loss drops the Lady Colonels to 1-1 on the season.
Muhlenberg scored the game's only goal in the 17
th minute.
Wilkes had a chance to net the equalizer in the 80
th minute but junior
Ema Sabovic (Brodheadsville, PA/Pleasant Valley)'s shot was stopped by Muhlenberg goalkeeper Marissa D'Alessandro.
Lady Colonels' freshman goalkeeper
Kendall Koch (Asbury, NJ/Warren Hills) made one save in the first half while fellow freshman
Samantha Cecere (Batavia, NY/Batavia) made two saves playing the entire second half, the first collegiate game action for both.
Wilkes returns to the pitch next Saturday when it travels to Troy, NY to take on RPI at 4 p.m.
