No. 16 Wilkes Wrestling Drops 31-12 Decision at Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Host Centenary University claimed wins in seven of ten bouts including four extra-point victories on way to a 31-12 upset of No. 16 Wilkes University Tuesday night in dual match competition.

Wilkes slipped to 10-4 overall following its first head-to-head dual match this season.

Guesseppe Rea (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) put Wilkes up early pinning Bobby Demeter at 125-pounds in 4:08 collecting his 107th career victory. Centenary claimed wins in the next four bouts at 133, 141, 149 and 157 to take a 16-6 advantage before Michael Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) earned a 16-11 decision at 165-pounds to stop the Cyclones run.

Justin Morel (Corona, NY/Mt. St. Michael Academy) pulled Wilkes to within four at 16-12 with a 5-1 decision at 174-pounds, but a decision at 184, fall at 197 and forfeit at 285 pushed the host Cyclones ahead for good earning the dual match win.
