Colonels Notebook
• Wilkes enters the North South Duals with a 7-2 overall record moving up to No. 16 in the latest NWCA rankings. The Colonels will wrestle in four matches at the event against Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m., Camden County at 11:30 a.m., Delaware Valley at 1:00 p.m. and Cortland at 2:30 p.m.

• Wilkes finished eighth overall at the 84th annual Wilkes Open with one top-three finisher. Guesseppe Rea (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) claimed second overall at 125-pounds finishing 3-1
 
• The Colonels took home third place at the Messiah Petrofes Tournament in early December. Matthew Grossmann (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) captured the 141-pound crown while nine other wrestlers earned top-seven finishes.
 
• Wilkes made its second consecutive appearance in the Grapple at the Garden event going 1-1 with a 32-15 win over Merchant Marine.
 
• The Colonels pushed their win streak earlier in the year to six matches going 3-0 at the Muhlenberg Quad. Wilkes recorded wins over Southern Virginia (52-6), Temple Wrestling Club (41-12) and Muhlenberg (32-12)
 
• Wilkes finished 3-1 at the NY/PA Duals with wins against Hunter College (42-6), Nassau CC (40-6) and College of Mount Saint Vincent (44-6).
 
• Wilkes finished in third place at the Monarch Invitational as two Colonels earned individual championships. Jessie Lopez (Everett, WA/Everett) won the 141-pound title going 5-0 while Evans finished 5-0 with a title at 149-pounds. In total, six Colonels claimed top-six finishes.
 
• Wilkes features three ranked wrestlers in the latest NWCA individual rankings. Rea is ranked third at 125-pounds, Grossmann first at 141-pounds, and Evans fifth at 149-pounds.
 
• Six Colonels have already totaled 10 or more wins this season including four wrestlers with 12 or more victories.
