Wilkes Men's Swimming Defeats Mount Saint Mary
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes university men's swim team hosted Mount Saint Mary College in the second leg of back-to-back meets on Saturday afternoon, winning 152-97.

The Colonels improved to 1-2 on the season in dual meets.
The relay team of
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island),
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Upper Dauphin),
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology), and
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) set a new record in the 800 free relay, finishing first with a time of 7:58.81. The team of Martino, Stampone,
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), and Byrne won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.26.
Byrne finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.83 and won the 100 freestyle in 49.58.
Tyler Deters (Cogan Station, PA/Montoursville) won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.77, finished third in the 50 freestyle at 24.99, and third in 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.48.
Martino came in first in the 50 freestyle at 23.68 and first in the 200 backstroke in 2:19.68.
Stampone won the 200 breast in 2:41.71and finished second in the 100 breast at 1:08.78.
Weatherby won the 500 freestyle at 5:38.01 and fourth in the 200 butterfly in 2:28.55.
Burda finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.72, second in the 200 freestyle at 2:03.55, and third in the 200 butterfly at 2:19.60.
The Colonels return to the pool Saturday when they host Stevenson University for a 1:00 p.m. MAC meet.
