WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's swimming team welcomed Stevenson University to the Wyoming Valley CYC on Saturday afternoon, finishing the afternoon with a convincing 117-20 victory.

The Colonels improved to 2-2 in dual matches and 1-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meets.

The relay team of Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Upper Dauphin), Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island), Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), and Chase Osborne (Lords Valley, PA/Wallenpaupack) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.02.

Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) set a new program record in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 5:09.58, and won the 50 freestyle in 22.44.

Burda won the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.84.

Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr) won the 100 freestyle in 55.39 and came in second in the 1000 freestyle in 12:41.06.

Christopher Daley (Bethlehem, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) finished on top in the 1000 freestyle at 11:51.63 and third in the 500 freestyle in 5:55.29.

Martino won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:19.43.

Wilkes returns to the pool on Sunday when it travels to Lebanon Valley for a MAC meet that will include Dickinson.
