Wilkes Men's Swimming Breaks Records in 126-72 Victory over FDU-Florham
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's swimming team broke three school records in a 126-72 win against FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet at the Wyoming Valley CYC Saturday afternoon.

The victory moved the Colonels to 4-3 overall this season and to 3-1 in MAC meets.
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) set the Wilkes record in the 200 freestyle by winning in a time of 1:48.49. He also took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.74.
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology) broke the school record in the 400 IM by finishing second place with a time of 4:59.92. He also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.59.
Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr) finished third and set the Wilkes record with a time of 19:46.71 in the 1650 freestyle.
Chase Osborne (Lords Valley, PA/Wallenpaupack) finished in 24.29 to take first place in the 50 freestyle.
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.47.
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) was the winner of the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.42 and he placed third in the 200 freestyle coming in at 1:58.16.
Jacob Wessner (Auburn, PA/Blue Mountain) took two second place finishes with a 24.41 in the 50 freestyle and a 59.64 in the 100 backstroke.
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island) finished second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.34 and third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.98.
Cameron Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) was second in the 100 butterfly finishing in 1:03.36.
The Colonels took first place in both of the relays. It was Wessner, Osborne, Burda, and Aspey who finished in 1:49.67 to win the 200 medley relay. Byrne, Weatherby, Stampone, and Martino won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.85.
Wilkes returns to the pool next weekend when it competes across town in the Diamond Invitational hosted by King's College on Saturday and Sunday.
