WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's swimming team lost a close 90-77 contest to visiting FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet at the Wyoming Valley CYC Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Colonels are now 0-6 overall and 0-4 in MAC meets.

Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) broke the Wilkes 400 IM record with her time of 5:00.38 in winning the event. She also won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.14.

The 200 medley relay team of Brianna Sailor (Philadelphia, PA/Milton Hershey), Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern), Cassie Merrill (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), and Kayla Gronkowski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) took first place in 2:27.53 and the 200 freestyle relay team of Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area),
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover), Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), and Keating also finished first with a time of 1:51.50.

Smeltzer took second with a time of 1:04.15 in the 100 freestyle and second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.27.

Aspey finished second in the 100 butterfly in 1:09.19.

Williams was second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:48.76 and was third in the 200 freestyle in 2:10.37.

Sailor finished in 31.58 to place third in the 50 freestyle.

The Lady Colonels return to the pool next weekend when they compete across town in the Diamond Invitational hosted by King's College on Saturday and Sunday.
