EDWARDSVILLE – Stevenson's Dan Williams threw for 446 yards and five touchdowns to lead the visiting Mustangs to a 44-12 Middle Atlantic Conference victory spoiling senior day for Wilkes University Saturday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
 
Wilkes remains winless at 0-9 overall and 0-8 in MAC games following its final home game of the season. Stevenson improved to 5-4 overall and 5-3 in conference contests after the road win.
 
Wilkes was cruising on offense on the game's first drive as Nicholas Geimer (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) used his legs to rush for 18 yards on two plays to move the ball to the Wilkes 43. Geimer connected with Aaron Coyne (Springfield, PA/Springfield) for ten yards before another 14-yard gain on the ground on a design quarterback run brought the Colonels to the Stevenson 14. Geimer went to his tight end Garrett Armstrong (Hampton, NJ/Kittatinny) for 11 yards on a third and ten before running in on his own from three yards out to give Wilkes a 6-0 lead with 10:00 left in the first quarter.
 
The defense forced a three and out on Stevenson's first drive setting up the Colonels offense for its second promising drive of the game. Geimer hit running back Shane Deemer (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills) for a screen pass for 28 yards moving the ball to the Stevenson 37. Wilkes went to the ground game six times over the next seven plays carrying the ball down inside the Mustang 10. Facing a third and three, Geimer was only able to gain one yard and Wilkes elected to try for a 23-yard field goal. Mike Hauck (Fredericksburg, PA/Northern Lebanon)'s kick sailed wide left as the score remained 6-0 Wilkes with 3:52 left in the opening frame.
 
Williams connected for his first touchdown pass of the game early in the second quarter hitting for a 23-yard score to wide out Sebastien Vainqueur to put Stevenson up 7-6.
 
Stevenson forced a fumble on Wilkes' next possession before Jacob Brook (Layton, NJ/Kittatinny) intercepted Williams with the Mustangs driving inside the Colonel 30. The Wilkes offense wasted little time taking advantage of the turnover as Geimer hit Armstrong for a 30-yard score to take back the advantage up 12-7 with 4:14 left in the half.
 
Stevenson closed out the final four minutes of the half with Williams hitting for his second passing score from 21-yards out and converting a turnover into a 19-yard field goal to take a 20-12 lead at the break.
 
The Mustangs passing attack continued its torrid pace in the second half as Williams threw for three more scores (90 yards, 62 yards and 39 yards) as well as a 33-yard field goal to cap off a 24-point second half.
 
Geimer finished 32-of-44 passing for 307 yards and one score while rushing 24 times for 71 yards and one more score.
 
Armstrong led nine different Colonel receivers who recorded a catch finishing with seven receptions for 99 yards and one touchdown. Jeff Steeber (Berwick, PA/Berwick) followed with seven catches for 76 yards.
 
Williams enjoyed a stellar afternoon through the air finishing 28-of-45 on way to his five scores. Preston Addo was his top target hauling in a game-high ten catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
 
Bud Moyer (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua) and Isaiah Robinson (Pittsburgh, PA/Milton Hershey) each totaled ten tackles and 2.0 tackles-for-loss. Hanif Jones topped all defensive players with 15 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
 
Wilkes closes out the regular season next Saturday traveling to cross-town rival King's College (4-5) for the 22^nd annual Mayor's Cup game at 12:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
