Wilkes Wrestling Finishes 10th at Ned McGinley Invitational
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University wrestling team finished in tenth place at the Ned McGinley Invitational Tournament hosted by King's College on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels garnered 38.5 total team points at the event. New York University (NYU) took home first place honors followed by York (Pa.) in second with 146.5 points.

Kyle Trout (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) took home fifth place at 125-pounds for the Colonels going 5-2 over the event. Trout began his fight back in the consolations after falling in the first round. He won by 8-7 decision over Anthony Fischetti of Oneonta in the consolation second round followed by a 16-6 major decision in the consolation third round. Trout collected two more decisions (7-3 and 7-6 OT) before falling in the consolation semifinals. He ended the day with a medical forfeit in the fifth place bout.
Wilkes is back on the mat next Saturday hosting the PA/NY Duals starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Marts center.
