Byrne Wins 50 Freestyle in Wilkes Men's Swimming's Loss at Lycoming
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's swimming team lost 173-84 at Lycoming College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet Sunday afternoon.
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) won the 50 Freestyle with a time of 22.36.

Wilkes is now 4-4 overall and 3-2 in MAC meets. Lycoming is 3-3 overall and 3-3 in the MAC.
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Byrne,
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island),
Chase Osborne (Lords Valley, PA/Wallenpaupack), and
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) took first place with a time of 1:33.20. Finishing second in the same relay was the team of
Tyler Deters (Cogan Station, PA/Montoursville),
Daniel Mack (Hanover, PA/New Oxford),
Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr), and
Cameron Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover).
Byrne, Stampone,
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), and Martino finished second in the 200 Medley Relay at 1:44.08.
Byrne also finished second in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:28.08.
Burda finished second in the 100 Butterfly in 59.27.
Pettit took second in the 500 Freestyle coming in at 5:35.77 and third in the 200 Freestyle coming in at 2:03.58.
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology) finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 5:01.48. He was also third in the 200 Butterfly (2:18.97) and third in the 100 Freestyle (54.13).
Deters took third place in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.64.
Martino finished in 2:16.78 in the 200 Backstroke to finish third.
The Colonels return to the Wyoming Valley CYC for a home non-conference meet against Penn State Altoona on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m.
