Keating Sets Record in Wilkes Women's Swimming's Loss at Lycoming
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's swimming team lost 164-74 at Lycoming College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet Sunday afternoon.
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) set a new Wilkes record in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:20.80 to finish in second place.

In addition to her new program record in the 200 Backstroke, Keating won the 400 IM with a time of 5:02.75.
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished first in the 500 Freestyle in 5:50.75 and also won the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 12:05.18.
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern),
Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area), Williams, and Keating took the top spot in 1:55.01. The team of
Brianna Sailor (Philadelphia, PA/Milton Hershey),
Stephenie Gyidei (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff),
Kayla Gronkowski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke), and
Cassie Merrill (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
In the 200 Medley Relay the team of Merrill, Smeltzer, Keating, and Williams finished in 2:06.85 to take second place.
Rostron finished third in the 200 Freestyle (2:20.76) and third in the 100 Freestyle (1:04.55).
Smeltzer took third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:22.68) and third in the 200 Breaststroke (3:00.02).
Merrill finished the 100 Backstroke in 1:16.00 to finish in third place.
Wilkes is now 0-7 overall and 0-5 in MAC meets. Lycoming is 3-3 overall and 3-3 in the MAC.
The Lady Colonels return to the pool when they face Penn State Altoona in a home non-conference meet on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wyoming Valley CYC.
