Wilkes Women's Swimming Completes Day Two of MAC Championships
YORK, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's swim team completed the second day of the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Friday at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
The Lady Colonels sit in 11
th place with 42 points.

In the morning session, sophomore
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) started off the day setting a new program-record in the 500 freestyle, finishing 24
th with a time of 5:39.68.
Freshman
Shannon Hogan (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) set new mark in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.99, the first female to break the 26-second mark, finishing in 19
th place. Hogan was followed by senior
Cassie Morey (Chemung, NY/Waverly) (27
th, 26.82), sophomore
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) (33
rd, 27.01), and freshman
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern) (40
th, 27.93).
In the afternoon session, the relay team of Hogan, Smeltzer, Aspey, and sophomore
Wynter Gowarty (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished 10
th in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:43.58. Leading off the team, Hogan set a new record in the 100 back with a time of 1:05.33.
Wilkes returns to the pool tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
