Wilkes Men's Swimming Finishes 12th at 2017 MAC Championships
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team finished 12
th overall concluding the final day of action at the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Sunday night.

The Colonels finished with 66 total team points. Albright College took home the title with 581 team points while Arcadia University finished in second place with 530.5 points.
Sean Connelly (Ashley, PA/Hanover Area) finished 26
th overall in the 1650 freestyle coming in at 20:26.22.
Jacob Parfianowicz (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) and
Dominic Parfianowicz (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) finished back-to-back in the 100 freestyle coming in 22
nd and 23
rd place. Jacob finished at 50.37 setting a new school record, while Dominic touched in at 50.40.
Matthew Nevers (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) and
Phillip Bennett (Sayre, PA/Sayre ) also swam the event finishing in 34
th and 35
th respectively at 54.48 and 56.72.
Three Colonels swam in the 200 breaststroke event as
Nick Walker (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) (23
rd/2:28.04), Chris Bright (24
th/2:30.05) and
Thurman Fogleman (York, PA/William Penn) (25
th/2:32.07) all competed in the preliminaries.
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology) finished 20
th overall in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:10.31 breaking his own school mark set earlier this season.
The relay team of J. Parfianowicz, D. Parfianowicz, Bright and Weatherby finshed 11
th overall in the 400 freestyle relay with J. Parfianowicz breaking his own 100 free record at 50.33 he set earlier in the day.
The championships conclude the third season since the program's rebirth in 2014.
