Wilkes Women's Swimming Finishes 10th at 2017 MAC Championships
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University women's swimming team finished 10
th out of 12 teams concluding action on day four of the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Sunday night.

The Lady Colonels finished the four-day event with 83 total team points. Messiah College captured the women's title with 619 points while Arcadia University followed in second with 522 team points.
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished 17
th in the 1650 freestyle finals breaking her own school record in the process coming in at 19:14.44.
Cassie Morey (Chemung, NY/Waverly) came in 30
th in the 100 freestyle finals with a time of 1:01.52.
Shannon Hogan (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had a strong showing in the 200 breaststroke finals finishing 10
th overall and second in the "B" heat touching in at 2:36.66 for a new school record.
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern) also swam in the event taking 24
th overall at 2:51.35.
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) took home 18
th overall in the 200 butterfly finals with a time of 2:31.67, breaking her own school mark in the process.
The relay team of Hogan,
Cassie Morey (Chemung, NY/Waverly), Smeltzer, and Williams came in 11
th in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:57.67.
The championships conclude the third season since the program's rebirth in 2014.
