No. 24 Wilkes Wrestling Cruises Past Elizabethtown 33-14
 
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – A week after vaulting back into the national rankings, the No. 24 Wilkes University wrestling team won seven of ten bouts including five  extra-point victories to cruise to a 33-14 victory over host Elizabethtown College Tuesday night at Thompson Gymnasium.
 
Wilkes improved to 18-5 overall in dual match play this season while Elizabethtown dropped to 2-13 on the season in dual bouts.
 
Guesseppe Rea (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) got things started for Wilkes with a major decision (12-1) over Philip Torresani at 125-pounds. Pankil Chander (Cedarhurst, NY/Lawrence) followed at 133-pounds with a 5-2 decision over Bryan Pflanz to push the Colonel lead to 7-0. Matthew Grossmann (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) pushed his season mark to 25-1 when the junior pinned Josh Paisley in 3:54 at 141-pounds. Kyle Medrow (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) scored a technical fall (18-0) in 2:45 at 149 and Nicholas Racanelli (West Creek, NJ/Southern Regional) went 9-4 over Chris Kummerer at 157 to vault the Colonels to a 23-0 lead.
 
Michael Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) picked up a forfeit at 165-pounds before Justin Morel (Corona, NY/Mt. St. Michael Academy) rounded out the scoring with a pin of Dayne Ross in 2:26 at 174. Elizabethtown finished the match with wins at 184, 197 and 285 to salvage 14 points.
 
Wilkes concludes its dual match schedule with a visit to cross-town rival King's College Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Scandlon Gymnasium.
