Wilkes Women's Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at Rutgers-Camden Tri-Match
CAMDEN, N.J. – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team dropped both non-conference matches Saturday afternoon at the Rutgers-Camden tri-match. The Lady Colonels lost the first match of the day 3-0 to Wesley College before dropping the second match 3-2 to Rutgers-Camden.
Set scores were 26-28, 22-25, and 22-25 against Wesley and 25-14, 25-18, 23-25, 22-25, and 13-15 to Rutgers-Camden.
Wilkes is now 4-10 overall and 0-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom. Wesley moved to 12-3 and Rutgers-Camden to 6-9 on the season.
Alex Ferrier (Cressona, PA/Blue Mountain) set a career-high with seven digs against Wesley.
Kayley Schinski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) had six kills and tied a career-best with five digs.
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) had 29 assists.
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) added a team-high 14 kills and
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) had a team-high nine digs.
Schinski set a career-high with nine blocks against Rutgers-Camden. Betke had 15 digs and set a career-high with four kills. She also tied career-best marks with six aces and six assists.
Michele Natale (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) set a career-high with seven kills.
Mikovich led the Lady Colonels with 16 kills and added 10 digs for a double-double.
Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added nine kills and Morgan had 32 assists.
Wilkes returns to the Marts Center for only its second home match of the season on Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. against FDU-Florham. It will be the third MAC Freedom match of the season for the Lady Colonels.
