WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's golf team opened the 2017 fall season hosting local rivals Misericordia University and the University of Scranton in match play at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
 
Wilkes fell 4-0 in both matches.
 
Christy Taylor (Carlstad, NJ/Lenape Valley) fell 9-8 and 8-7 in both of her matches in the first position. Alexa Flood (Covington Township, PA/North Pocono) dropped 8-7 and 9-8 scores at No. 2. Elizabeth Reyes (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) and Ashley Hoffman (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove)n rounded out the Lady Colonel competitors falling 7-4, 6-4 and 5-4, 8-7 respectively.
 
Wilkes returns to the course Saturday traveling to Scranton, Pa. for a matchup against Marywood University at 12:00 p.m. at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course.
