Keating, Williams Place Second in Wilkes Women's Swimming's Loss to Messiah
GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's swimming team competed in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet at Messiah College Saturday afternoon falling by a score of 114-46.
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) placed second in two events while
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) took the runner-up position in one race.

Keating placed second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:05.24 and also finished the 100 Breastroke in 1:15.51 to come in with the second fastest time.
Williams was less than one second off the winning time in the 500 Freestyle to finish second in 5:47.23. She also placed third in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:11.57.
In the 50 Freestyle
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) placed third with a time of 27.78.
The Lady Colonels finished third in the two relay events. The team of Keating,
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern), Aspey, and Williams finished the 400 Medley Relay in 4:36.20. In the 200 Freestyle Relay it was the team of
Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area),
Brianna Sailor (Philadelphia, PA/Milton Hershey),
Cassie Merrill (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), and Smeltzer that finished in 2:03.34.
Wilkes fell to 0-10 overall on the season and are now 0-7 against Middle Atlantic Conference competition.
The Lady Colonels return to the pool for a home double-dual meet next Saturday, January 27 when they host SUNY Delhi and SUNY Cobleskill at 1:00 p.m. inside the Wyoming Valley CYC.
