Wilkes Men's Soccer Drops Non-Conference Match
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's soccer team lost 1-0 Wednesday evening on the road at Penn College. The Wildcats 21
st minute goal was all they needed to send the Colonels home with a loss.
The defeat drops Wilkes under the .500 mark at 7-8-1. On the other side, Penn reaches the .500 mark at 7-7-1.
The Wildcats scored the lone goal off a header from Vance Gladwell that was assisted by Chris McFarland about halfway through the first half.
Besides the Penn College marker, it was an evenly contested game between the two teams. The Colonels held the advantage in shots (14-12) and corner kicks (8-3) over the Wildcats but were unable to find the equalizer.
Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made six saves to help keep Wilkes one shot away from knotting up the match.
