Wilkes Women's Swimming Drops MAC Meet to Arcadia
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's swimming team was defeated 203 to 46 by Arcadia University at the Wyoming Valley CYC Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-3 against Middle Atlantic Conference competition. Arcadia improved its record to 6-3 overall.

Against a deep Arcadia squad the Colonels struggled to produce top finishes but
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) was able to place second of six swimmers in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.87. She also finished third in the 100 backstroke out of six swimmers with a time of 1:07.44.
The Colonels started the day with
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton),
Kyleigh Smeltzer (York, PA/Northeastern), Keating and
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) placing third of five teams with a 2:04.39 in the 200 Medley Relay.
Wilkes closed the meet with another third place relay finish. This time the team of Keating,
Jessica Turnitza (Cumbola, PA/Pottsville), Williams and Aspey finished the 200 Freestyle Relay in 1:52.05.
The Colonels will enjoy the upcoming holiday season before returning to the pool on Sunday, January 13 when they travel to Misericordia University for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
