Wilkes Swim Teams Complete Day One at MAC Championships

YORK, PA -- The Wiles University men's and women's swim teams completed the first night of the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference swimming championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.

After two events each, the Colonel men have 38 points while the women have 14 points.

For the men in the 200 medley relay the team of
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor),
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island),,
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) finished seventh setting a new school record with a time of 1:40.62 and the team's first podium finish since the mid-1970's.

The team of
Cameron Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover),
Christopher Daley (Bethlehem, PA/Allentown Central Catholic),
Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr) and
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology) took home tenth place in the 800 freestyle relay breaking the school record with a time of 7:52.03.

For the women, the team of
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove),
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern),
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) and
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished tenth in the 200 medley relay touching in at 1:59.16.
