Wilkes Men's Swimming Finishes 11th at 2018 MAC Championships
YORK, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's swim team completed the final day of the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center on Sunday evening. The team finished in 11
th place with an overall score of 116, the first time the team has broken 100 points at the event.

The relay team of
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin),
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology),
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island), and
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) finished seventh in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:18.71, setting a new program record in the process, the first time a team has finished the event in under 3:20.00.
Byrne finished 10
th in the 100 freestyle with a new program-best time of 48.06.
Weatherby came in 16
th in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:06.13, setting a new program record.
Christopher Daley (Bethlehem, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) finished the 1650 freestyle in 17:57.75, good for 19
th place while breaking the program mark for the 1000 free and becoming the first Colonel to complete the mile in under 18 minutes.
Martino got in on the individual record setting with a 17
th place finish in the 200 back in 2:21.12.
Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr) crossed the finish line in 18:18.68 in the 1650 free, coming in 21
st place.
Today's action completes the 2017-18 season for the Colonels, one in which they finished with seven wins, the most since the programs rebirth, and earned the first two podium finishes since the 1970's.
