Wilkes Men's Swimming Ends Regular Season at Home against King's
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's swimming team completed the 2018 regular season with a dual match against King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC, but was defeated 130-68 on Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels finish the campaign with a 7-7 record. The seven wins set a new program record, and tie the amount of wins the program had in its first three years of the rebirth combined.
The relay team of
Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin),
Anthony Stampone (Kent Island, MD/Kent Island),
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), and
Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor) started the day with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.49. The team of Burda,
Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institutional Technology), Stampone, and Martino finished second in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing in 1:34.87.
Byrne earned two event wins, finishing first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.34) and the 100 freestyle (50.05).
Stampone finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.53.
Burda was second in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 55.70.
Martino came in second in the 100 backstroke at 59.91.
Mike Pettit (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area Jr/Sr) finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:23.85 and fourth in the 100 freestyle at 54.46.
Wilkes returns to action in less than two weeks when it heads to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in York, Pa. which begin Thursday, February 15
th at 6:00 p.m.
