WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's volleyball team used a balanced attack as seven different Colonels registered a kill on way to a 3-0 sweep of the City College of New York (CCNY) on Saturday afternoon at the Marts Center.
 
Wilkes improved to 7-20 overall on the season following the win while CCNY dropped to 12-9 on the season.
 
Wilkes took the match by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-16.
 
Daniel Sales (Laflin, Pa./James M. Coughlin) led all Wilkes attackers with 10 kills, 20 assists and five service aces. Jones Mensah (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) continued his fine hitting finishing with nine kills on 16 attempts while adding four block assists. Cole Hefner (East Greenville, Pa./Southern Lehigh) followed with six kills and five block assists while Brian Schumacher (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) and Michael Henne (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) combined for nine kills and 12 digs.
 
Wilkes concludes its regular season Monday hosting Widener University in both squads' final MAC Freedom match. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
