LEHMAN, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team played to a 2-2 tie with host Misericordia University before falling 3-1 to the University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon at the Irem Country Club.
 
Wilkes moved to 0-2-1 overall through its fall match play.
 
Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) was a two-time winner for Wilkes taking her match 3-and-2 over Misericordia's Madelyn Wharton before a 2-and-1 victory over Molly Lennon of Scranton.
 
Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) was the other Colonel winner against the Cougars besting Dani Clifford 7-and-6 as Wilkes salvaged a tie with the hosts.
 
Wilkes is back on the course September 22 with another match against Scranton at 12:00 p.m. at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course.
