Wilkes Women's Swimming Bested by Misericordia 161-64
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's swimming team lost a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) meet to Misericordia University on Sunday morning.
The loss drops the Colonels record to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the MAC.
Results
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) won the 1000 Freestyle by nearly six seconds with a time of 12:04.11 to earn her team nine points.
Freshman Jessica Turnitza (Cumbola, PA/Pottsville) took second place in the 200 Freestyle (2:12.12) before finishing third in both the 50 and 500 Freestyle races.
Fellow freshman Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville) captured second place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:17.63.
In the 200 Breaststroke junior Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) came away in second after touching the wall in 2:55.85.
Allie Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover) added to the second-place finishes in the 100 Butterfly, completing the race in 1:09.64.
The Colonels return to the pool when they host Messiah at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m.
