Wilkes Women's Soccer Hosting Senior Day/Breast Cancer Awareness Match Saturday
WILKES-BARRE – Along with honoring its nine senior members, the Wilkes University women's soccer team is hosting a breast cancer awareness match Saturday, October 19 celebrating the life of Susan Dalton St. Onge '91.
Susan was a proud Wilkes women's soccer alumnus and member of the first women's soccer team at Wilkes, playing on the team from 1987-1990. Susan was passionate about her time both at Wilkes and as a part of the women's soccer team, remaining active with the Wilkes alumnae group long after she graduated. Susan lost her battle with cancer on June 21, 2018. Wilkes will continue to host its senior day game in her honor each season.
The team will also be hosting a bake sale at both the men's and women's matches Saturday, starting with the women's contest at 12:00 p.m. All proceeds from the event will be donated in Susan's name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation - 91 cents out of every dollar donated goes directly to research.
