Season Opening 200 Medley Relay Victory Highlights Wilkes Men's Swimming Tri-Meet at Arcadia

GLENSIDE, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team won the 200 Medley Relay and Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship) added another first place as the team split its season-opening tri-meet at Arcadia University Saturday. The Colonels defeated Immaculata University 173-53 and fell to the host Arcadia 180-81.

The team of Timothy Sechler-Stone (Allentown, PA/Salisbury), Harloff, Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and Joseph Antolick (Ringtown, PA/North Schuylkill) placed first in a seven-team race with a 1:44.65 to open the season with a victory in the pool.

In the same 200 Medley Relay race the team of Jacob Wessner (Auburn, PA/Blue Mountain), Shawn Shaw (Sayre, PA/Athens Area), Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) and Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) placed third with a time of 1:49.92.

Harloff won the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:22.99 for his first individual victory of the season. The sophomore also placed second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:55.40 and in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.62.

Burda placed second in to 200 Butterfly (2:18.44) and the 100 Butterfly (55.51).

Martino came to the wall in second place in the 50 Freestyle sprint with a time of 23.59.

Antolick had a runner-up finish in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 52.53.

Shaw placed third in the 100 Breaststroke race coming in at 1:11.62.

The team of Martino, Burda, Weatherby and Antolick placed second out of six teams in the 400 Medley Relay with a finish of 3:34.59.

The Colonels return to the pool in Carlisle, Pa. on Saturday, November 2 for a tri-meet against Dickinson College and Lebanon Valley College.
