Personal Bests for the Entire Wilkes Women's Cross Country Team Highlights the Paul Short Run
BETHLEHEM, PA – All 10 members of the Wilkes University women's cross country team set personal-best 6k times at the 46th Lehigh Paul Short Run. The Colonels placed 29th of 44 teams with 843 points in the Women's College White 6k on Saturday with this being the first time this season that Wilkes has competed at the 6k distance.

Freshman
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) paced the Colonels in the race, placing in 155th out of 373 runners with a time of 24:53.2 to set her collegiate 6k time to beat moving forward. She just missed out on breaking into the top-15 in the Wilkes' record book for fastest 6k times.
Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) set her career-best time with a 24:55.8 to place in 157
th just seconds behind Hensil. The personal-best times continued for the remainder of the Wilkes lineup.
Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) ran a 25:24.3 to finish 188th overall.
Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) placed 214th with a time of 25:57.1 and
Mia Walker (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) rounded out the scorers for Wilkes with a 26:46.3 in 250th place.
Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) finished with a time of 26:56.1 in 258th place.
Jill Weston (South Canaan, PA/Western Wayne) finished 311th with a time of 28:41.4 and
Arianna Ryan (Brockton, PA/Tamaqua) was 323rd with a 29:14.4. Freshman
Alexa Boersma (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) completed her first collegiate 6k in 337th to set her time to beat at 30:17.0.
Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) was one of 424 runners in the Open Women's 6k. She ran a personal-best 26:59.1 to place 362nd.
The Colonels return to the course on Saturday, October 12 at the Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College (LI) at Bethpage State Park at 12:00 p.m.
