Nazareth Defeats Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey
WILKES-BARRE – Visiting Nazareth College defeated the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team 7-0 Friday afternoon in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest at the Toyota SportsPlex.
Wilkes dropped to 0-3-0 on the season and in the UCHC while Nazareth, a team receiving votes in the USCHO Division III Top 10 poll, improved to 5-1-0 on the year and to 1-1-0 in the league.

Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI) made 17 saves in the first 20 minutes.
Nazareth blew the game open in the second period with four goals within a span of 7:18. The Golden Flyers added one more goal in the third period for the 7-0 final.
Joly tied her season-high with 44 saves in the game. Adrianna Brehm earned the victory for Nazareth with six saves.

Abby Davis (Mountain Top, PA), and
Erica Sheaffer (New Hartford, NY) each had one shot for the Colonels. Tubbs led Wilkes with 10 faceoff wins while
Laurenne Fraser (Salt Lake City, UT) added eight in a game where Nazareth held a 31-19 advantage in the circle.
Nazareth went 2-for-4 on the power play including its final goal which came while Wilkes was serving a five-minute major. Wilkes was 0-for-2 on its power play chances.
The Colonels return to the Toyota SportsPlex ice tomorrow for another UCHC game against Utica College at 3:30 p.m.
