Wilkes Women's Cross Country Produces Best Regional Finish to Close Season
BETHLEHEM, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team closed out the 2019 season in fine fashion as the Colonels produced their best-ever finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by Muhlenberg College by placing 33rd of 49 teams at the 6k course on the Goodman Campus at Lehigh University on Saturday morning.

Senior
Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) closed her career in style as she ran a personal-best 24:35.7 to pace the Colonels in 151st of 349 runners. Her 24:35 also tied Rickard for 11th in program history for 6k times.
Wilkes scored 892 points from its top-five runners.
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) was second for the Colonels and 165th overall with a time of 24:46.6. The personal-best time was just one second from a top-15 time in program history.
Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) placed 196th with a personal-record time of 25:38.3.
Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) was 201st with a time of 25:43.4 and
Mia Walker (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) rounded out the Wilkes scorers with a personal-best time of 26:00.6 to place 216th.
Senior
Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) ran her career-best time with a 26:10.1 to finish 224th.
Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) rounded out the Colonel participants in 253rd with a time of 26:48.4.
Johns Hopkins earned the team championship with 88 points while Isabel Cardi of Dickinson placed first overall with a time of 20:38.5.
