Men's Swimming Splits Tri-Meet, Earns Three Event Victories
 
CARLISLE, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels men's swimming team continued their 2019-2020 campaign with a tri-meet against host Dickinson and Lebanon Valley, a fellow member of the Middle Atlantic Conference.  The Colonels defeated Lebanon Valley 137-52 and fell to Dickinson 114-74.
 
Junior Jacob Wessner (Auburn, PA/Blue Mountain), sophomore Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship), and the 200-yard freestyle team headlined the Colonels day with victories.  Wessner recorded a 1:01.08 in the 100-yard backstroke to place first, while teammates junior Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) and sophomore Timothy Sechler-Stone (Allentown, PA/Salisbury) finished second and third in the event with times of 1:01.29 and 1:03.41 respectively. 
 
Harloff took home the gold in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.98, while freshman Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas High School) took third with a time of 1:17.15 in the same event.   Harloff came away with a third place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle as well with a time of 11:25.11.  
 
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Martino, junior Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), senior Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology), and Harloff teamed up to earn a first place finish with a time of 1:33.86.  The 200-yard medley squad also took home a third place with sophomore Joseph Antolick (Ringtown, PA/North Schuylkill) working with Weatherby, Burda, and Martino to earn a 1:45.53 time. 
 
Antolick also took home an individual second place and third place finish respectively.  The sophomore recorded a 2:14.43 time in the 200-yard IM, good for third, and took home second in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:35.74 finish.
 
The Colonels host their first home event of the season on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m in the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center when they play host to Marywood University.
