Wilkes Women's Cross Country Earns Program-Best Finish at MAC Championship
FREDERICK, Md. – The Wilkes University women's cross country team earned a program-best ninth place finish at the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship hosted by Hood College on Saturday afternoon.
Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) paced the Colonels, setting a new personal-best and matching the 15th-best time in program 6k history with a time of 24:45.
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) was not far behind, finishing in 59th with a time of 25:08 while Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) set a personal-best at 25:51 for 73rd place.
Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) (77th, 25:57), Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) (PR, 78th, 25:59), Mia Walker (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) (88th, 26:18), Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) (PR, 93rd, 26:29), Jill Weston (South Canaan, PA/Western Wayne) (PR, 111th, 27:34), Arianna Ryan (Brockton, PA/Tamaqua) (PR, 121st, 28:36), and Alexa Boersma (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) (130th, 29:31) complete the list of finishers for Wilkes.
The Colonels return to the course next Saturday when they travel to Mount Saint Mary College for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship starting at 11:00 a.m.
