• Wilkes University wrestling (3-1) travels to Allentown, Pa. for the Scotty Wood Duals hosted by Muhlenberg College on Saturday, November 23. The Colonels will wrestle four matches on the day. Wilkes will face Kent State Tuscarawas (0-0) at 9:00 a.m. and then Central College (5-1) at 10:30 a.m. The Colonels then face Gettysburg College at 12:15 p.m. before finishing the day against the host Muhlenberg (2-0) at 1:30 p.m.
 
• Wilkes split a tri-match at Delaware Valley University last Saturday as the Colonels defeated the host Aggies 28-19 before falling to York (PA) 26-9. Sophomore Liam Flaherty (Needmore, PA/Southern Fulton) won both of his matches on the day. Junior Moustafa Almeky (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) won by fall against his DelVal opponent.
 
• The Colonels defeated Alvernia University in Reading, Pa. 28-12 by taking six of the 10 bouts on November 13th. Flaherty, John Devito (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and Brady Mitchell (Bowdoin, ME/Mount Ararat) all won by fall.
 
• Wilkes placed in a tie for ninth out of 12 teams at the Ned McGinley Invitational Tournament hosted by King's College on November 9th. Nicholas Bauer (Coplay, PA/Wyoming Seminary) placed fifth at 125-pounds after a 3-2 showing. Flaherty wrestled back to place sixth at 157-pounds as he was 3-3 on the day. Almeky also placed sixth after he won his first two matches in the 197-pound bracket before retiring for the day with an injury. Jack Bauer (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) (133) and Cody Dix (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) (149) finished with 3-2 marks at the tournament.
 
• The Colonels opened the 2019-20 season with a 34-15 dual-match victory over Lackawanna College at the Marts Center. N. Bauer (125) and Jason DeBoard (Avoca, PA/Pittston) (165) won by fall in the match.
 
• The Colonels 2019-20 roster goes 27 deep with a class breakdown of: 2 seniors; 5 juniors; 8 sophomores; and 12 freshmen.
 
• The roster features athletes from five states: Pennsylvania - 12; New Jersey - 11; New York - 2; Virginia - 1; Maine – 1
