DOYLESTOWN, PA – Rob Pecorelli (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) scored a game-high 26 points and Mark Mullins (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) and Marcus Robinson (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional) added double-doubles as the Wilkes University men's basketball team notched a huge road Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) victory over Delaware Valley University Wednesday night to run its win streak to five games.

After evening the season series with the Aggies, the Colonels improved to 17-7 overall but more importantly they moved to 9-4 in the MAC Freedom and can wrap up the No. 2 seed in the conference postseason to earn a semifinal home game with a win on Saturday. The Aggies fell to 12-12 overall and 8-5 in the conference with the loss.

After the Aggies opened the game with a three-pointer on the first possession, Connor Evans (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) hit his own from range to give the Colonels their first lead of the game at 6-3 with 17:55 left in the first half.

Delaware Valley regained the lead with a 6-0 run but then Wilkes put together a 13-0 run of its own to gain a 19-9 lead. Tommy Bowen (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made four buckets for eight of the 13 points during the run while Pecorelli added a three and Mullins a layup.

Back-to-back threes from Evans and Jack Bova (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) extended the Wilkes lead to 27-13 with 9:21 remaining. After DelVal closed to within seven points with a 12-5 run, it was Evans who connected on his third three-pointer of the half to put the Colonels back ahead by 10 with 5:08 showing on the clock.

The Aggies again cut the lead to seven at 39-32 but threes by Pecorelli and Mullins and a layup by Zach Walser (Marcellus, NY/Bishop Ludden) pushed the Colonels lead to 15 points at 47-32 entering the halftime break.

Pecorelli nailed another from deep on the first possession of the second half to cap an 11-0 run and put the Colonels ahead by 18 points. DelVal cut that lead down to 10 points at 53-43 with 15:51 left in the game before layups by Bowen and Robinson stopped the run and put Wilkes back up by 14 points.

Bowen scored on the fastbreak to build the Colonels advantage back to 17 points at 66-49 with 10:16 showing on the second half clock. A 7-0 Aggies run over the next 3:26 pulled the home side back within 10 points but a timely Robinson three-pointer made sure DelVal never closed to within single digits.

A 12-3 run extended the Wilkes lead to its largest of the game as the score stood at 78-59 with 4:24 left. The Aggies could close no closer than 13 points with 40 seconds left and a bucket by Drake Marshall (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) caped the 85-70 victory for the Colonels.
