Wilkes Men's Swimming: MAC Championships Day 1
York, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team made the podium in both relay events during the first day of the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center on Thursday evening. The Colonels also set new team records in both events.

Wilkes took sixth in the 200 Medley Relay as the team of Jared Byrne (Pequea, PA/Penn Manor), Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship), Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) ended the race in 1:38.91 to earn their team 26 points. Along with the new team record, Byrne set a new individual program record in the 50 Backstroke as he led off the event with a time of 25.75.
The Colonels grabbed another sixth place finish, this time in the 800 Freestyle Relay as Harloff, Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology), Joseph Antolick (Ringtown, PA/North Schuylkill) and Byrne touched the wall in 7:20.03 to break another program record while also earning 26 more points for the navy and gold.
Wilkes currently sits in sixth place out of 12 teams after the first night of competition. The Colonels will get back in the water tomorrow, Friday, February 15th, at 10:00 a.m. for preliminary rounds before finals continue at 6:00 p.m.
