Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Concludes Inaugural Season with 3-0 Defeat at Utica
UTICA, N.Y. – Host Utica College scored two goals in the second period on way to a 3-0 shutout victory over Wilkes University Saturday afternoon at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
Wilkes concluded its inaugural season with a 0-15-1 overall record. Utica improved to 16-8-1 overall and will continue play in the upcoming UCHC tournament next week.
Caley Susitti began the scoring for Utica with a goal at the 18:23 mark of the first period. Georgiana Santullo extended the advantage with a strike at the 7:54 mark of the second frame before Noelle Capriglione put the game out of reach with a goal just two minutes later.
A day after finishing with a record-setting 66 saves,
Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI) finished with 63 saves in net for the Colonels. Utica held a 66-9 shot advantage while 42-of-58 faceoffs in the contest.
Wilkes will embark on its second season in program history in 2019-2020 joining the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC).
