Wilkes Men's Golf in Sixth Place after Round One of MAC Freedom Championships
WHITE HAVEN, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team stands in sixth place after round one of the 2019 MAC Freedom Championships held at the Mountain Laurel Golf Club Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes shot a team score of 346 on the day. Manhattanville College topped all schools after round one with a 315 while Eastern University followed in second place with a 324.
Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) fired in a four-over 76 after round one finishing in second place behind the leader Nicky Marrollo of Eastern's 75. Finke used birdies on holes 11 and 16 to record a one-over 37 on the back nine.
Corey Cowitch (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) followed with an 83 for 16
th place.
Nathan Hunter (Elysburg, PA/Southern Columbia) scored a 92 and
Austin Paisley (Sugarloaf, PA/Marian Catholic) a 95 for 32
nd and 34
th place respectively.
Teddy Marines (Harrisburg, PA/Bermudian Springs) rounded out the Colonel scorers carding a 101.
Round two begins tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
