WHITE HAVEN, PA  – The Wilkes women's golf team concluded play on day one of the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference Golf Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Mountain Laurel Golf Club.
 
The Colonels had three participants for round one in the championship event. Hannah Welfley (Mifflintown, PA/Juniata) led the group carding a 110 for 32^nd place. Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) finished with a 115 for 34^th place while Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) shot a 117 for 37^th place.
 
Wilkes will not garner a team score at the event with only three scorers. Stevenson University finished round one as the team leader combining for a 323. Alvernia University followed in second place with a 330 team score.
