WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team opened its 2019 fall schedule finishing third shooting a combined 378 at the King's College tri-match at the Wyoming Valley Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
 
FDU-Florham took home first place finishing with a team score of 332 while the host Monarchs followed two strokes behind in second place posting a 334.
 
Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) led all Wilkes scorers carding an 82 on the Par 71 course finishing tied for fourth overall. Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) followed with an 82 tied with Finke and two other players from FDU-Florham. Michael Novatnack shot a 104 and Michael Gurska (Revere, MA/The Rivers School) rounded out the Colonel finishers with a 110.
 
King's Tyler Faux took home medalist honors shooting a match-low 76 (+5) on the day.
 
The Colonels are back to the course Thursday traveling to Glenmaura National Golf Club for a tri-match hosted by the University of Scranton with Penn State Hazleton at 1:00 p.m.
