Wilkes Women's Cross Country Places Ninth at Elizabethtown College Short Course Invite
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country squad traveled to Elizabethtown to participate in the Elizabethtown College Short Course Invite. They placed ninth out of ten squads participating in the event which included several regionally-ranked teams.

Freshman
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) paced the Colonels finishers with a 20:31.87, good for 67th, while senior
Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) ran a 20:44.09 for 72nd place. Those two times were good enough to land in the top-10 of the Colonels' 5k record book dating back to 2008. Hensil's time is the fifth fastest 5k while Rickard's time is currently eighth.
Junior
Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) (20:52, 76th) is now ninth on Wilkes' 5k record list and sophomore
Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) (21:00, 82nd) is 11th after terrific runs.
Senior
Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) (21:53, 96th) rounded out the scorers for Wilkes, who ended with 277 team points. Sophomore
Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) (22:02, 100th), senior
Jill Weston (South Canaan, PA/Western Wayne) (23:36, 109th), sophomore
Arianna Ryan (Brockton, PA/Tamaqua) (23:56, 112th), and freshman
Alexa Boersma (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) (24:44, 115th) rounded out the runners for the Colonels in the race, which had 121 participants.
Dickinson took home the team title with 44 points.
The Colonels next head to the Paul Short Invitational on October 5
th at 9:30 a.m., hosted by Lehigh University.
