JEFFERSON TWP., PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team dropped a 333-452 verdict to local rival the University of Scranton Saturday afternoon in a dual match at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course.
 
Wilkes fell to 2-2-1 overall over its fall campaign.
 
Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) led all Wilkes finishers carding an 87 on the Par 72 course. Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) followed posting a 96 while Emily Loftus (Shippensburg, PA/Shippensburg) (127) and Julia Kobusky (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (142) rounded out the Colonels scorers in the match.
 
Katie Pagano earned medalist honors shooting a match-low 78 on the day for the Royals. Brianna Stein (83) and Molly Lennon (85) rounded out Scranton's top three finishers.
 
Wilkes returns to the course Saturday, October 19 when the Colonels play in a match at the Golden Oaks Golf Club against Misericordia, Scranton, Hood and King's.
