The Wilkes University wrestling team is set to host the John Reese Duals at the Marts Center on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The eight teams participating will wrestle in three matches each. The Colonels start with No. 19 Rochester Institute of Technology (3-2) before facing Penn State Behrend (0-9) at 12:30 p.m. and SUNY Oneonta (9-4) at 2:00 p.m. No. 7 TCNJ (10-1), Lackawanna College (9-6), the University of Scranton (12-5), and Springfield College (11-3) will also compete at the duals.
• Round 1 begins at 11:00 a.m. – Wilkes vs RIT, Oneonta vs Springfield, Lackawanna vs PSU Behrend, Scranton vs TCNJ
• Round 2 follows at approximately 12:30 p.m. – Wilkes vs PSU Behrend, Oneonta vs TCNJ, Lackawanna vs RIT, Scranton vs Springfield
• Round 3 concludes the day at approximately 2:00 p.m. – Wilkes vs Oneonta, Lackawanna vs Springfield, TCNJ vs RIT, Scranton vs PSU Behrend

• The Colonels placed fifth of seven teams at the 2020 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship last Saturday with eight wrestlers placing.
Kyle Medrow (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) (141) placed second,
John Devito (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) (174) third,
Moustafa Almeky (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) (197) third,
Cody Dix (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) (149) fourth,
Max Shaffer (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) (141) fifth,
Jack Bauer (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) (133) sixth,
Liam Flaherty (Needmore, PA/Southern Fulton) (157) sixth, and
Xavier Barber (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) (165) sixth.
• Wilkes went 1-4 at the Budd Whitehill Duals on January 10-11 to bring its dual match record to 6-8. Devito went 4-1 individually and
Roger Horton (Towanda, Pa./Athens) compiled a 3-1 record.
• The Colonels defeated Hunter 47-6 on January 8th.
Nicholas Bauer (Coplay, PA/Wyoming Seminary) (125) and J. Bauer (133) won by fall.

Dylan O'Connor (Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) at 141-pounds and Horton at 285 went 2-2 at the 87th annual Wilkes Open on December 22nd.
• Devito earned runner-up at 174-pounds after going 4-1 at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational on December 6th and 7th. Dix finished seventh at 149-pounds and Almeky placed eighth at 197-pounds.
• The Colonels went 1-3 at the Scotty Wood Duals on November 23rd. Wilkes defeated Kent State Tuscarawas 54-6 in the opening bout before dropping matches to Central, Gettysburg and the host Muhlenberg. N. Bauer went 4-0 on the day while Shaffer and Devito were 3-1.
• Wilkes split a tri-match at Delaware Valley on November 16th as the Colonels defeated the host Aggies 28-19 before falling to York (PA) 26-9. Flaherty won both of his matches on the day.
• The Colonels defeated Alvernia in Reading, Pa. 28-12 by taking six of the 10 bouts on November 13th. Flaherty, Devito and
Brady Mitchell (Bowdoin, ME/Mount Ararat) all won by fall.
• Wilkes placed in a tie for ninth out of 12 teams at the Ned McGinley Invitational Tournament hosted by King's on November 9th. N. Bauer placed fifth at 125-pounds after a 3-2 showing. Flaherty and Almeky placed sixth at 157-pounds and 197-pounds respectively.
• The Colonels opened the season with a 34-15 victory over Lackawanna at the Marts Center. N. Bauer (125) and
Jason DeBoard (Avoca, PA/Pittston) (165) won by fall in the match.
• The Colonels 2019-20 roster goes 27 deep with a class breakdown of: 2 seniors; 5 juniors; 9 sophomores; and 11 freshmen.
